July 06, (THEWILL) – Inter Miami have set their sights on signing Spanish defender, Jordi Alba, as the club grows increasingly confident about securing the services of the experienced left back.

Alba, who recently departed Barcelona after an illustrious career, is currently a free agent and has been linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabia. However, Inter Miami is optimistic about bringing the 34-year-old to the Major League Soccer, although no arrangements have been finalised and no deal has been signed yet.
During his time at Barcelona, Alba made 459 appearances, winning six La Liga titles and one UEFA Champions League. He is also an integral part of the Spanish national team, boasting 93 caps and playing a vital role in their UEFA Nations League triumph. Inter Miami has already completed deals for fellow Barcelona legends, Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets, and they hope to reunite Alba with his former teammates in Miami.
Sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, Inter Miami is determined to strengthen its squad in the summer window. The addition of Alba would provide valuable experience and quality to their defence, bolstering their chances of climbing up the table. While negotiations are ongoing, Inter Miami’s managing owner, Jorge Mas, recently revealed that the club has been in discussions with Alba and the reactions have been positive.
Mas was also confident that more players will join their ranks in the near future as the combination of Messi, Busquets and new manager, Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, make the club a much more attractive project. So far, names like Sergio Ramos and Jesse Lingard have been mentioned as prospective players ready to join Inter Miami.
