The race for two African spots in the women’s category involves a total of 25 nations vying for the prestigious opportunity. The opening match on Wednesday, July 12, will see Burkina Faso hosting Mali at the Stade de l’amitie General Mathieu Kerekou, with kick-off set for 15:30 GMT.

Two days later, Guinea Bissau will welcome Benin at the Estadio 24 Setembro at 16:00 GMT, while Ghana and Guinea will clash at the Accra Stadium simultaneously. On Monday, 17 July, Ethiopia will play host to Chad at the Abebe Bekila Stadium in Addis Ababa, with the fixture scheduled for 12:30 GMT. The first round of qualifiers will conclude on Tuesday, 18 July, when Rwanda welcomes Uganda to the Kigali Pele Stadium at 15:00 GMT, and Equatorial Guinea faces Namibia at the Malabo Stadium simultaneously.

In addition to the intense matches, automatic wins has been granted to Cote D’Ivoire, Tanzania, and Congo DR due to the cancellation of their opponents. Sierra Leone, Congo, and Mozambique were unable to participate, enabling these teams to advance to the next round without having to compete in the qualifiers.
