December 03, (THEWILL) – The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chike Olemgbe, has advised youths to shun acts and conduct, capable of pulling them into trouble with law enforcement operatives or untimely death during the forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.

In a press release, which emanated from the office of his Chief Press Secretary, the Speaker of the 10th Assembly of the legislative arm of Imo State Government, Chike Olemgbe, charged Imo youths to be satisfied with whatever genuine material thing at their disposal.

According to the Speaker of the Imo state legislative house, greed or uncontrollable desire for pleasure leads to temptations that could result in avoidable regrets in life.

He lamented that some persons, particularly the youths, resort to lawless acts during the yuletide, to either amass wealth or impress their relations, only to end up in sorrow.

Urging every Imo youth to take life easy, Speaker Chike Olemgbe stated, “It is not enough for me to wish our dear youths happy New Month, Christmas and New Year celebrations. I believe that the best wish for our youths is for them to remain safe and law-abiding. It is only those that are alive that can become leaders of tomorrow. We should be conscious of the adage that says, a living dog is better than a dead Lion. Caution in everything should be our watchword”.

Meanwhile, Rt Hon Chike Olemgbe has tasked all Imo youths to be poised for engagement in massive life-transforming activities that would characterise Governor Hope Uzodimma’s second tenure in office.

Chike Olemgbe disclosed that Youth Empowerment would remain, topmost in the Uzodimma 8-year 3-R mantra administration which according to him, would stop at nothing to make Imo the envy of other states in the federation.
