December 16, (THEWILL) – The Secretary to the Imo State Government (SSG), Chief Cosmas Iwu, has commended the leaders of thought from Umueze 11/Umueleke ward in Ehime Mbano LGA for breaking the political jinx in the ward by ensuring the landslide victory of Governor Hope Uzodimma during the November 11th gubernatorial election in the State.
Chief Iwu, who gave the commendation in his office when the leaders of thought from Umueze 11/Umueleke ward paid him a solidarity visit, thanked the leaders for demonstrating their total support for the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Governor Uzodimma by giving him block votes.
Recall that in the time past, Umueze 11/Umueleke ward was dominated by the People Democratic Party (PDP).
He said that the essence of the second tenure of Governor Uzodimma is to complete and consolidate the good works he started in the state under the 3R mantra and assured them that the Governor’s second term administration will carry them along in the scheme of things.
The SSG used the opportunity to charge leaders in the State, especially the traditional rulers, to preach to the youths to embrace peace and shun any act of insecurity in their respective communities, noting that peace and security are cardinal for development to take place in any community.
Earlier in his speech, the spokesman of the delegation, Ugwunna Robert Anyanwu, said they were on the visit to thank the SSG for his effort in ensuring that the political history in Umueze11/Umueleke ward was changed through the landslide victory of Governor Uzodimma.
Anyanwu further appealed to Governor Uzodimma to carry Umueze 11/Umueleke ward along in the scheme of things during his second tenure in the office.
Contributing, Engr. Gabriel Ekeigwe eulogized the leadership qualities of Chief Cosmas Iwu and assured him of the undiluted support of the people of Umueze 11/Umueleke ward to Governor Uzodimma.
Adding his voice, the traditional ruler of Duruegwele Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Daniel Emereonye, on behalf of his counterpart, HRH Eze, Samuel Urechukwu, who was represented by the palace secretary, Chief Lasbery Ejiogu, described Chief Iwu as a man of action who has touched many lives in Okigwe zone and particularly in Ehime Mbano LGA.
