November 16, (THEWILL) – Nigerian rapper and songwriter, Jimoh Idowu Wasiu, popularly known as Idowest, has publicly criticized his former label boss, Oyindamola Johnson Emmanuel, popularly known as Dammy Krane, accusing him of neglecting to offer any support to his career during the time he was signed under the label.
In a recent video, Idowest, who eventually departed the record label to join Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), voiced his disappointment regarding the absence of financial support or accommodation during his time working with Dammy Krane.
Responding, Dammy Krane said, “I gave Idowest a platform (management contract doesn’t come with money; he read the contract), after he blew he joined 30bg, I didn’t drag them to court & I left it to God.”
This arises amidst increasing concern for the well-being of artists in Nigeria, particularly in the wake of the recent passing of rapper Oladips and singer MohBad.
Few weeks ago, Dammy Krane accused Afrobeat superstar, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, of alleged debts.
He also claimed that Davido took Idowest from his record label and he let it slide but he would not let the debts slide.
