ICAO Set To Commence Safety Audit Of Nigeria’s Aviation Industry

SAN FRANCISCO, March 13, (THEWILL) – ICAO Set To Commence Safety Audit Of Nigeria’s Aviation Industry. A four-man delegation from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has arrived Nigeria to commence the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) on the country’s aviation sector.

The arrival of the ICAO four-man team was revealed in a statement signed by Sam Adurogboye, General Manager, Public Affairs, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Adurogboye revealed that the auditors would make the following areas: Legislation (LEG), Organisation (ORG), Accident and Incident Investigation (AIG), Air Navigational Services (ANS), and Aerodrome and Ground Aids (AGA) their focal points.

He added that the auditors, who will be working with their Nigerian counterparts, would visit NCAA’s regional offices and all the relevant service providers in the aviation industry.

Adurogboye said that the team would work in separate groups based on specific assignments, adding that at the conclusion of the audit, which ends on March 25, 2016, there would be a closing meeting where the draft audit result would be presented.
