BEVERLY HILLS, April 05, (THEWILL) – Bolatito Idakula, wife of popular Nigerian singer, Bez Idakula, has opened up concerning how she suffered from shame and guilt for years because she had two abortions.
Idakula, who is also the daughter of the ex-governor of Oyo state, Rasheed Ladoja, took to her Twitter account on Sunday to commemorate the Easter celebration.
According to her, she had the abortions at the time because she was not prepared for a baby and she thought that was the only option available to her then.
She stated that decision, however, made her unsettled for years even after she married.
Bolatilo disclosed that when she lost her first child in 2015, she was thinking that it was God’s way of punishing her for having abortions but she later got rid of the guilt when she came to terms with the salvation she had in Christ.
She wrote: “It almost crippled me when I found myself fighting for the life of my daughter.
“I couldn’t stop thinking: ‘I deserve this punishment. Now I’m ready, and God is finally ready to get me back.’
“But then I didn’t understand the salvation and righteousness that I have in Christ.
“I’ve had two abortions. I was scared and wasn’t ready. I took the only options I thought were available to me at the time. And even in this age of pro-choice, I am not personally proud of the choices I made. And I lived in shame and guilt for years.
“If you are still burdened by the spirit of condemnation, open yourself to the gift of life from Christ. Accept his salvation today. Invite him into your heart. Release it all to him. He loves you so much, he died for you. Happy Easter!”
Bolatito and Bez married in 2014 and the union has been blessed with three children.
