BEVERLY HILLS, January 11, (THEWILL) – Contrary to claims that he checked into a rehab facility last year, Reggae legend, Majek Fashek has made it known that he did not such thing. Rather, he says he had a spiritual rebirth.
The ‘Rain Maker’ who opened up during an interview on Your View, a breakfast show on Television Continental (TVC) said, “It was wrong to say I was taken to a rehab; I only went into seclusion for spiritual rebirth”.
This however, contradicts his statements at a press conference in Abuja last August after he completed treatment at an Abuja based rehab, Synapse Services Centre For Psychological Medicine.
Then, Majek confirmed that he was in rehab for treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. He said: “People should stop the use of alcohol and drugs because being drunk will end up destroying your career and your plans for the future. Coming to the rehab is not a bad idea because I realised that I am addicted to alcohol and it was beginning to affect my output and what I enjoy doing and decided to seek for help. I am not the first singer or person that will go to the rehab; most renowned celebrities we know today go to rehabilitation centres to cool their memory”.
Rehab or Rebirth, we think Majek Fashek is doing way better than he was in the past.
