I Advised Davido To Go Back To Africa To Do Music – Akon

October 5, (THEWILL) – Senegalese-American musician, Aliaune Damala Badara, popularly known as Akon, has revealed how he advised Davido to come back to Africa and make his music when he was trying to be a rapper in America.

He added that today, his advice, which Davido heeded, has paid off in the long run.

“At the time I was pushing ‘Thug Record’, Davido was in Atlanta trying to be a rapper. I told him, nigga you better move back to Africa and do your music over there. He listened and went back home. Today, he’s one of the biggest Afrobeats artists.”
