September 23, (THEWILL) – Hungary defeated Germany 1-0 in Leipzig, thanks to an exquisite effort from Adam Szalai, keeping them on track for the Nations League Finals.
In the late Friday fixture, captain Szalai scored just before the halfway point of the first half to give his team an amazing victory that leaves them two points clear at the top of Group A3.
If Italy wins at home against Marco Rossi’s team on Monday, after the European champions defeated England 1-0 earlier in the day at San Siro, Italy will go to the Finals of the Nations League next year.

His team will now play an essentially pointless game against England because it is now mathematically impossible for them to make it to the finals.
