SAN FRANCISCO, June 25, (THEWILL) – Ogenyi Onazi has disclosed that there was a “little scuffle” in the Super Eagles’ dressing room that spurred the team to win the 2013 AFCON trophy.
He stated this while speaking with Brila.net stressing that the team won the match after a fight broke out and late coach Stephen Keshi intervened to restore normalcy.
He said: “After we drew the first two matches, Nigerians were calling us to draw soup, but after these two games, we were fighting in the dressing room and there was a lot of blame game and noise.
“Coach Stephen was just looking at us, then after the altercations, he addressed the team and told us we can’t afford not to win the next game.
“He then charged us to take the fight to the pitch and luckily we won the next game and moved to the next round.
