Herdsmen Attacks: Benue Declares Three-Day Mourning

BEVERLY HILLS, January 08, (THEWILL) – Benue State Government, on Monday, declared three days of mourning for those killed in recent attacks on communities in Logo and Guma local government areas of the state.
According to a statement by Governor, Samuel Ortom, the mourning period will be from Tuesday to Thursday this week and ends with a church service for the victims at the IBB Square in Makurdi.
The church service will be followed by mass burial of the victims bringing an end to the three-day mourning period.
It was also stated that flags will fly at half-mast during the period while offices will close at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thursday, the last day of the mourning, has been declared a work-free day in the state.
