November 02, (THEWILL) – A former member of the House of Representatives in Zamfara State, Kabiru Classic Yahaya, has been shot by gunmen.
THEWILL reports that the former lawmaker, who represented Talata Mafara/Anka Federal Constituency of Zamfara in the 9th Assembly, was shot along the Gusau-Funtua highway on Wednesday.
Reports from Zamfara State informed that Yahaya left Gusau on Wednesday afternoon for Kano when he ran into the gunmen operating at Kucheri, along the Gusau-Funtua highway, at about 2pm.
The gunmen reportedly opened fire on his vehicle, leaving him with multiple gunshot wounds.
Although the Zamfara State Police Command is yet to confirm the incident, Yahaya has been rushed to hospital for medical attention.
