June 29, (THEWILL) – Gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped the Medical Director of Dansadau General Hospital, Dr Mansur Muhammad, in Dansadau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Zamfara, Dr Mansur Muhammad, confirmed the incident in a statement.
He said: “NMA Zamfara received with deep shock a report that the Medical Director of General Hospital, Dansadau, Dr Mansur Muhammad, has been kidnapped.”
“The unfortunate incidence happened on Saturday June 25th, 2022 at Mashayar zaki along Dansadau – Magami Road in Zamfara State.
“We urge our members to include him and other abductees in our prayers, while the association works with the relevant authorities to ensure his timely release in good health.”
The abduction of the medical doctor occurred less than 48 hours after the Zamfara State Government said it would issue gun licences to citizens for self-defence against bandits terrorising the state.
