Gunmen Attack Kaduna Community, Kidnap Scores

December 27, (THEWILL) – At least 45 persons have been reportedly abducted by suspected bandits, who attacked Angwan Aku, a community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Christmas day.

THEWILL gathered that the attack took place while the Christian faithful were getting set to attend Church services on Sunday.

The bandits, in their hundreds, were said to have parked their motorbikes along the road before invading the community, shooting indiscriminately.

“The bandits struck at about 10.00am on Sunday, being Christmas Day, when Christians were getting set for Church services.

“They were in large numbers. They came on motorcycles but they parked by the roadside and moved from house-to-house to attack residents.

“They killed one person on the spot and made away with 53 but seven escaped and returned home. 45 people are still with them,” the source said.

There was no official confirmation of the attack from either the State Government or the State Police Command.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, said he was not aware of the attack but promised to provide more information on the development.
