BEVERLY HILLS, March 08, (THEWILL) – Things are now looking up in Borno State despite the effects of the Boko Haram insurgency on social life as the state Football Association (FA) Sunday announced plans to ensure grassroots sports development by re-introducing the state league.
Newly-elected state FA Chairman Babagana Kalli who made the announcement said the league would be used to identify local talents and groom them into limelight.
Kalli also said the state league would also be a platform for the teeming unemployed youths to direct their energy towards productive means.
The FA Chairman however appealed to wealthy individuals and philanthropists to assist by sponsoring the numerous programmes of the football body.
