The Governor, who was represented by his Senior Special Assistance on Security, Nwunuji Agyo, expressed his willingness to provide all the needed support to all the security outfits in the state to enable them effectively fight all forms of crimes.

Ishaku charged the command to synergise with other security agencies in the state for effective operations, even as he tasked the inaugurated Quick Combatant Response Team to be proactive in their responsibilities at all times.

In his inaugural speech, the Commandant, NSCDC, Taraba State Command, Ugwuja Edwin, said the Quick Combatant Response Team was a product of a carefully selected crop of personnel based on hard work, discipline and resilience after undergoing rigorous and intensive training that would make them responsive and responsible in their operations in cracking down on criminal elements and other security situations in the state.

While pledging to synergise with other security agencies for effective and efficient operations, the Commandant said, “I am quite aware of the fact that no single security outfit can effectively provide the needed security for the nation in isolation. To have effective and efficient security operations, collaboration among security agencies is absolutely necessary.

“It is in this light that I pay an emergency courtesy visit to the Brigade Commander, 6 Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army Jalingo, Brigadier General Hillary Mabieuku, shortly after I arrived in the state. I also planned to visit other heads of security agencies in the state to enable us to have a robust synergy for effective operations,” he added.

While rolling out his agenda for the Taraba NSCDC command under his watch, the Commandant noted that he would prioritise and absorb an intelligent mechanism that would be comparable to none.

He warned: “There would be nothing like accidental discharge under my watch. So you must be upright and professional in the discharge of your duties. For criminal elements parading in the state, let me sound this note of warning clearly. It is either you turn a new leaf or leave the state.”

Ugwu appreciated the government of Taraba State under the leadership of Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku for the commitment to ensuring the safety of people and their properties across the state and solicited for logistics from the state government to enable the command to continue with its responsibility of safeguarding the lives and property of the people.

In their separate goodwill messages, Bulus Manu, who represented Brigadier General Hillary Mabieku, Commander, 6 Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army in Jalingo, and Bulus Mary who represented Tanko Nuhu, the Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Taraba State Sector Command, all expressed their readiness to support the quick combatant response team of the NSCDC in all the necessary ways to free Taraba from the bondage of criminal elements.
