Gil Returns To Sevilla On Loan From Tottenham

January 30, (THEWILL) – Bryan Gil has secured an agreement to rejoin Sevilla on loan from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the 2022/2023 season.

Gil first signed for Spurs from Sevilla in the summer of 2021 for a €25m fee plus Erik Lamela. Despite impressive short spells with Tottenham, he failed to secure regular game time, which was further hindered by the arrival of Arnaut Danjuma on loan.

Sevilla confirmed the loan agreement in a statement, saying that Gil returns to his former home to strengthen the attack for the rest of the season. Reports in Spain suggest that Tottenham’s initial hesitation to let Gil leave frustrated the player, but they eventually agreed to the loan deal.

The 21-year-old spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan with Valencia after failing to make an impact under Tottenham’s Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte. Gil now returns to Sevilla, where he will hope to play a more prominent role and apply his talent.

This loan move could provide the perfect opportunity for Gil to revive his career and prove himself as a top-quality player.
