Gemade Rates Alia’s Administration, Says Governor On Right Track

August 15, (THEWILL) – Former governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Senator Barnabas Gemade, has rated the administration of Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alia as one that has kicked off on a good footing so far.

Senator Gemade, who led his supporters on a solidarity visit to Governor Alia at the Government House, Makurdi, on Tuesday, also assured the Governor of his full support to enable him to succeed in the task of delivering dividends of democracy to the Benue people.

Fielding questions from newsmen after a closed-door session with the Governor, Senator Gemade said the time for electioneering and campaigns is over and as such there is a need for critical stakeholders, including himself, to back the Governor to succeed in office.

Chief Gemade, who represented Benue North East at the Senate for two terms, therefore, called on all Benue citizens to give Governor Alia the necessary support to enable him to deliver democratic dividends to the people of the state.

Governor Alia, who also answered questions from newsmen, appreciated Senator Barnabas Gemade for throwing his weight behind his administration.

He described Senator Gemade as a critical stakeholder in APC and one who has been there and knows the dynamics of party politics, adding that his demonstration of sportsmanship and support means a lot not just to his administration but to the party and the State in general.

Governor Alia expressed optimism for better things to come, saying there are higher benefits when there is unity of purpose amongst the people.

It would be recalled that Senator Gemade was one of the governorship aspirants that sought the APC nomination during the 2023 general election in Benue State but lost to Revd Fr Hycinth Alia, who won both at the primaries and the general elections.
