Galatasaray Loanee Sekidika Joins HangiKredi Ümraniyespor

January 17, (THEWILL) – Nigerian winger, Jesse Sekidika, is back in the Turkish Super Lig, less than six months after his adventure with Istanbul giants, Galatasaray ended.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Turkish topflight club, HangiKredi Ümraniyespor, announced the capture of Sekidika on loan for the remainder of the 2022-2023 season. THEWILL recalls that after he departed from Galatasaray last summer, the 26-year-old re-joined Eyüpspor, where he spent the second half of last season on loan from the Lions.

Konyaspor and OH Leuven were his other loan clubs during his time with Galatasaray. However, in the current season, Sekidika has played in 11 matches for his parent club, including seven starts, and was on the scoresheet on two occasions.

A product of Brooke House College, he has also worn the colours of AD Oeiras, Benfica, Napredak Kruševac and Eskişehirspor in the past. Apart from the aforementioned clubs, Sekidika has made 31 appearances combined for two different clubs: Galatasaray and Konyaspor in the Super Lig, scoring two goals and providing an assist.

HangiKredi Ümraniyespor are the bottom team in the Super Lig with fourteen points from eighteen matches played. With Sekidika’s experience and skill, the team will be looking to improve their position in the league table.
