September 04, (THEWILL) — The long-awaited Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua showdown has taken another major twist after Eddie Hearn confirmed that negotiations to stage the blockbuster at Wembley Stadium have reopened.
The development could revive hopes of seeing the two British heavyweights finally meet on home soil after Madison Square Garden in New York had emerged as a leading alternative for the event.
Hearn, Joshua’s promoter and chairman of Matchroom Boxing, confirmed the latest development on Friday, signalling that Wembley is once again firmly in contention.
“Talks have now re-opened for Wembley”, Hearn said.
