December 14, (THEWILL) – Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has signed the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N800 billion into law.
Fubara, who presented the bill on Wednesday, December 13, to the House of Assembly, led by Speaker Edison Ehie, signed the budget on Thursday, at the Government House, in Port Harcourt.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Odu, some members of the State Executive Council, former lawmakers and some chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Local Government Areas.
The Governor, in his address, said the estimated N800 billion, tagged, ‘Budget of Renewed Hope, Consolidation and Continuity’, will be well implemented to provide critical infrastructure like the second phase of the landmark Trans-Kalabari Road and meet the socio-economic needs of the people.
On his part, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Edison Ehie, commended the Governor’s foresight in expanding infrastructure and youth development through employment generation.
