BEVERLY HILLS, September 4, (THEWILL) – A member of Nigeria’s Super Eagles Bronze Medal winning team at the 1992 African Cup of Nations in Senegal, Ajibade Babalade is dead.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, said he died of cardiac arrest Friday in Ibadan, Oyo State.
THEWILL gathered that he was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, in the afternoon, where he was certified dead.
Until his death, Ajibade Babalade was the Team Coach of Shooting Stars FC, a team he played for several years ago.
The 48-year old deceased is survived by a wife and three kids.
