BEVERLY HILLS, June 03, (THEWILL) – Retired boxing great, Floyd Mayweather, has offered to cover the cost of the funeral of George Floyd, who was killed by the police in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His killing has sparked protests in America’s major cities with crowds calling for an end to police brutality.
Mayweather Promotions chief executive, Leonard Ellerbe, made the offer while speaking to ESPN.
Ellerbe said: “He’ll probably get mad at me for saying that, but yes, (Mayweather) is definitely paying for the funeral.
He also added that Mayweather “has done these kinds of things over the last 20 years” stressing that the world champion didn’t want to talk about this gesture himself.

According to the lawyer to Floyd’s family, the funeral will be held on June 9 in Houston and there will be a memorial service in Minneapolis on Thursday and a memorial service on Saturday in North Carolina, where Floyd was born.
