Air Peace has apologised to passengers over recent flight delays and cancellations, saying it understands the frustration of passengers who were forced to wait, rearrange journeys or alter important plans because of disruptions across some of its operations.
-
The airline said the disruptions were triggered by a combination of factors, including adverse weather, a bird strike, technical issues requiring mandatory checks and maintenance, an inadvertent false fire alarm and delays in aviation fuel availability.

It insisted that it would not compromise the safety of passengers, crew or aircraft in an attempt to maintain flight schedules. It said aircraft would remain grounded whenever technical, weather-related or other safety concerns required further checks or intervention.

Air Peace said it was taking immediate measures to stabilise its operations, improve contingency arrangements and strengthen communication and responsiveness whenever unforeseen circumstances affect scheduled flights.
September 08, (THEWILL) — Air Peace Limited has apologised to passengers affected by recent flight delays, diversions and cancellations across some of its operations, attributing the disruptions to a combination of unforeseen operational challenges.
The airline said the incidents included an inadvertent false fire alarm that grounded one of its aircraft, adverse weather conditions that caused diversions and delays, a bird strike that kept another aircraft grounded for days, mandatory technical checks and maintenance, as well as delays in the availability of aviation fuel in some cases.
In a statement signed by its Chief Operating Officer, Oluwatoyin Olajide, the airline acknowledged the frustration and inconvenience experienced by passengers, saying it deeply regretted the disruption to their travel plans.
The airline said the recent disruptions were the result of several separate incidents occurring within a short period, making it difficult to maintain normal schedules across some routes.
According to the carrier, one of its aircraft was grounded after an inadvertent false fire alarm, while another aircraft was taken out of operation for several days following a bird strike.
Air Peace said adverse weather conditions also affected its operations, forcing diversions, delaying flights and, in some cases, resulting in cancellations. It added that some aircraft had to undergo mandatory technical checks and maintenance before being cleared for service.
The airline further identified delays in the availability of aviation fuel as another factor that contributed to some operational disruptions.
While acknowledging that some of the circumstances were beyond its immediate control, Air Peace said it recognised the effect of the disruptions on passengers.
The airline said its responsibility was to manage such challenges as effectively as possible, minimise disruption and ensure that passengers were not left to bear the consequences of operational difficulties.
“Our focus is on managing these challenges responsibly, minimising disruption and ensuring that our passengers are not left to bear the consequences of operational challenges”, the statement said.
Safety Remains Non-Negotiable

Amid the disruptions, Air Peace stressed that it would not sacrifice safety in an effort to keep to its flight schedules.
The airline said safety remained its highest priority and that no aircraft would be released for service until its technical teams and all relevant safety procedures had established that it was safe to fly.
It said the same principle applied when flights were affected by bad weather, technical conditions, bird strikes or any other safety-related circumstance.
“Air Peace will never compromise safety in an attempt to keep to a schedule”, the airline said.
According to the carrier, where a safety-related situation requires an aircraft to remain on the ground, that decision would take precedence over operational convenience.
Air Peace said it was already taking immediate steps to restore stability to its operations and minimise the likelihood and impact of future disruptions.
The measures, according to the airline, include strengthening its contingency arrangements and improving its communication and responsiveness when unexpected operational challenges occur.
The carrier said it remained committed to providing safe, dependable and increasingly seamless air travel to passengers. It also reassured travellers that the recent operational challenges had not diminished its commitment to service reliability.
