Five Suspects Of Offa Bank Robbery Sentenced To Death

September 26, (THEWILL) – The five accused persons involved in the deadly 2018 bank robbery incident in Offa Community have been sentenced to death by a High Court in Kwara state.

The accused, Ayoade Akinnibosun, Ibikunle Ogunleye, Adeola Abraham, Salahudeen Azeez and Niyi Ogundiran, were found guilty of illegal possession of firearms, armed robbery, and culpable homicide.

Justice Haleemah Salman passed the death verdict on Thursday, six years after the deadly robbery incident.

THEWILL recalls that over 15 people including Police officers were killed in Offa during the robbery attack on April 5, 2018.

The deceased officers and other victims include Julius Pelemo (ASP), Yusuf Danjuma (Inspector), Grace Makinde (Inspector) and Oke Kayode (Inspector). Others were Sergeants Mustapha Kolawole, Bilikisu Babawale, Abimbola Adedokun, Yootum Nakoma and Monday Isa.
