First Antonio Conte Targets For Spurs Emerge

November 05, (THEWILL) – Antonio Conte has allegedly already given his approval to several of Tottenham Hotspur’s 2022 transfer targets.

Fabio Paratici, the club’s Managing Director of football, has been considering Spurs’ alternatives for the summer transfer window, and one deal he wants to secure and is already working on is for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Tottenham have been interested in the midfielder for some time and are now believed to be in serious talks to sign him. It was all the better that Conte is a big fan of the Kessie’s talents too.

In recent weeks, Kessie’s stock has risen, with a number of Premier League clubs set to make contract offers to the 24-year-old in January.

Sources close to Spurs have revealed that a deal for Kessie is in the works, however they acknowledge that getting the deal done will be difficult – but they feel Conte’s arrival will play a key role in him putting pen to paper.

Conte is also an admirer of Kessie’s Milan teammate Alessio Romagnoli. Romagnoli, like Kessie, has just over six months left on his San Siro deal, and Spurs are interested in signing him as well. At least one central defender is on the club’s wish list, but two might arrive in 2022.

Despite competition interest, especially from his former club Chelsea, Conte has no objections to the club chasing the Milan tandem.

If Tottenham is able to reach an agreement on personal terms with either player in January, they will consider moving their arrival ahead based on Milan’s expectations.

Spurs have done this before, agreeing to a pre-contract with Lewis Holtby in 2013 before paying Schalke a flat sum to buy out the rest of his contract in Germany.

Milan has not given up hope of signing either player to a long-term contract, but both players have so far refused to sign extensions.
