The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), on Tuesday, threatened a nationwide strike over the failure of the Federal Government to reconstitute the Councils.
A member of the committee, Maiyaka, on Wednesday said, “The government is working to reconstitute governing councils of 61 federal universities.
“Government is taking time to make sure that the most qualified people are brought in so that they can deliver on Mr President’s renewed hope agenda.”
He added that as part of the plan, as soon as the governing councils are reconstituted, they will undergo an orientation course to enhance their performance.
