March 02, (THEWILL) – The quarter-final draw for the 2022/23 FA Cup has taken place, and it has thrown up some intriguing ties.
Manchester United and Manchester City, two of the biggest teams left in the competition, have avoided each other and both have been drawn at home. United will face Fulham, while City will take on Burnley.
However, there is guaranteed to be at least one non-Premier League team in the semi-finals, as second-tier sides Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers have been paired together. Meanwhile, League Two’s Grimsby Town, who knocked out Premier League outfit, Southampton, in the previous round, face a trip to the south coast to play high-flying Brighton.
The quarter-finals will take place on the weekend of 18/19 March 2023, and the winners will be just one step away from a Wembley final. With some big teams still in the mix, including both Manchester clubs, the stage is set for an exciting end to this year’s FA Cup campaign.
The 2022/23 FA Cup quarter-final draw includes:
Manchester City versus Burnley
Manchester United versus Fulham
Brighton versus Grimsby
Sheffield United versus Blackburn
