December 26, (THEWILL) –Â The 27th instalment of GOtv Boxing Night, Africa’s biggest boxing event, will hold on Boxing Day at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
Six international and local boxing matches will be included in the special music and boxing event that is billed to feature Afrobeats artistes for the musical-themed competition. Ruger, Pheelz, 9ice, Chinko Ekun, and the well-known DJ Xclusive are among the lineup for the programme.
Unbeaten West African Boxing Union Featherweight Champion, Taiwo “Esepor” Agbaje, will square off against Richard Taruc Pumicpic of the Philippines, for the World Boxing Federation Intercontinental Featherweight Championship in the main event of the evening.
The FlyKite Productions-organised event will also feature fights between Bartholomew Abuchi and Adeyemi “Spirit” Adekanla, in the Super Lightweight division; Idris Aloma versus Michael Adesodun in the Super Featherweight division; and Opeyemi “Golden Boy” Ibrahim versus Sodiq “Happy Boy” Adeleke, in the b
bantamweight division.
In the other two fights, female pugilists, Sofiat Lateef and Abosede Akinsanya, will square off in a National Middleweight Challenge match, while graduate boxer, Sikiru “Iya Eleja” Shogbesan will face Sodiq Oyakojo, in a Super Featherweight Challenge fight.
GOtv Boxing Night 27 will be broadcast live on DStv channel 209 and GOtv Channel 34. It is sponsored by GOtv and supported by Supa Komando.
