Castrol has now unveiled the six nominees for their prestigious Save of the Month award, highlighting the very best pieces of goalkeeping heroics from the past few weeks.
Veteran, Matz Sels, showed he still has razor-sharp reflexes by clawing a Darwin Nunez header off the line in Nottingham Forest’s tie against Liverpool. Bournemouth’s ever-reliable, Neto, also made the cut with a sensational free-kick stop at Turf Moor. England’s Aaron Ramsdale proved his worth yet again for Arsenal, tipping a Nathan Collins header over the bar against Brentford.
Two goalkeepers who have been in inspired form lately also earned nominations. Arijanet Muric has nailed down the Burnley number one shirt on the back of some stellar performances, including a crucial one-vs-one save against Brentford. Meanwhile, Mark Flekken continued his outstanding campaign with a phenomenal reaction stop to deny Rasmus Hojlund in Brentford’s draw with Man United.
Rounding out the six nominees is Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen, who made a last-ditch goal-line clearance from Mohamed Salah in a narrow loss to Liverpool over the Easter weekend. Voting has opened for fans to vote for their Castrol Save of the Month winner now.
