BEVERLY HILLS, July 10, (THEWILL) – The Lagos State Police Command says it has discovered a company that allegedly prints fake ballot papers for the upcoming Ekiti State Governorship election.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Edgal Imohimi, which revealed that the police made the discovery following intelligence reports adding that some of the printed ballot papers had already been moved to Ekiti in three Hilux vans on Friday (July 6, 2018).
Imohimi further stated that officers were immediately deployed to the location in Gbagada to confirm the information where it was discovered that the company had two buildings and after a search was done, several items such as laptops, some election materials such as a copy of form EKSEIC A(1), one booklet of form EC/EK8B EKSIEC, among others, were discovered.
The statement further noted that it was discovered that the company is owned by one Eniola Fayose, an indigene of Ikire Ekiti who reportedly has a contractual agreement with the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (EKSIEC) “to print the election materials found during the search”.
Coincidentally, Eniola bears the same surname with Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti but has since denied being related with the Governor.
“The recovered laptops are being scrutinized by the Police ICT experts with a view of discovering any incriminating information.
Meanwhile, “the admin/human resources manager and the graphic artist of the company are assisting the police in the investigation,” the statement said.
