SAN FRANCISCO, December 04, (THEWILL) – Eight persons have been killed and six others injured in an accident along the Wudil-Bauchi Expressway, Kano State.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kano, Zubairu Mato, said the accident was as a result of “over-speeding and dangerous driving”.
He said the dead were male adults while six others were injured and another six escaped unhurt.
“We received a call on December 3rd and we quickly dispatched our personnel and vehicles to the scene of the incident to rescue the victims at about 9:50 AM, but on arrival, we discovered some were already dead”, he explained.
He said that the victims were taken to Garko General Hospital in Kano, where the doctor on duty confirmed the death of eight.
The commander appealed to motorists to obey traffic regulations and drive carefully to minimise road accidents.
