February 19, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, quizzed a former Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, over alleged financial misappropriations worth billions of naira.
Ahmed arrived at the EFCC office in Ilorin on Monday morning, following an invitation from the anti-graft agency.
Serving as governor from May 2011 to May 2019, Ahmed is being accused of diverting funds during his tenure as governor and previously as Commissioner for Finance under the administration of ex-Governor Bukola Saraki.
This is not the first time Ahmed has faced such scrutiny. In May 2021, he was questioned by EFCC operatives in Abuja regarding the alleged diversion of approximately N9 billion from Kwara State Government funds.
