Economic Hardships: TNN Urges Nigerians Not To Despair

December 14, (THEWILL) – Team New Nigeria (TNN), a national movement committed to social, economic and political changes in Nigeria, has urged the citizens to exercise patience, in the wake of the current economic hardships and security challenges in the country.

Imran Jino, the National Director of Media Engagement of the movement, made the call while addressing newsmen in Kano on Thursday.

Jino said Nigerians should keep hope alive and persevere while the twin problems lasted, saying that the situation would change for the better.

He said the movement believed that the nation’s elected leaders were capable and should be supported, as they made efforts to steer the country out of the situation.

He said the group would not encourage the citizens to revolt against the system, as such action would not augur well either for the nation or the people themselves.

The group then advised President Bola Tinubu to give more priority attention to local production, to pave way for production of assorted food crops in the country.

It also urged the president to ensure provision of assorted farming implements at affordable rates to farmers and also enable rural dwellers to participate in all-year-round farming.

“We have all it takes to produce assorted food crops for our consumption and exportation if modern farming implements will be made available to farmers at affordable rates”, it said.

According to TNN, the only way to end poverty, hunger and starvation in the country is to accord more priority attention to Agriculture.
