October 18, (THEWILL) – WBO heavyweight world champion, Daniel Dubois, has set his sights on a trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk, following his stunning second-round victory over Fabio Wardley to retain his WBO title in London on Saturday .
Dubois has lost his last two fights against Usyk, he was stopped in the ninth round by the Ukrainian boxer when they first met in August 2023.
Usyk also knocked him out in the fifth round in 2025 at the Wembley Stadium in London.
Dubois was in his best element when he floored Wardley to retain his WBO title in style.
He made his intention known in the bout in the first 20 seconds with a heavy right which unsettled Wardley.
Wardley was able to survive his onslaught in the opening round, but Dubois wrapped up the bout in the second round.
It was Dubois’s second consecutive stoppage win over Wardley, five months after he recovered from two knockdowns to win in 11 rounds in Manchester.
Basking in the euphoria of beating Wardley, Dubois is now targeting a trilogy bout with Oleksandr Usyk.
“No. Fa-bio’s got a great chin. He’s known for taking punishment but I was going through him. I had bad intentions from the beginning. Our back was against the wall first time. We just had to go out there and show we meant business tonight.
“I just had to pull myself back and reset. I want to know who’s next”, he stated.

Asked if he would welcome a potential trilogy fight with Usyk.
“Definitely, definitely, I’d love that. We’re coming out on top this time. We’ve made our mistakes and we’re coming out on top”, Dubois said.
THEWILL recalls that Usyk vacated the world titles he held, which allowed Dubois to win the WBO belt in his first bout with Wardley.
Dubois is also targeting more championships in 2027.
“I’ve heard talk about Kabayel but I’ll fight whoever’s next in line. Whoever pays the most cash.”
The victory extended Dubois’s professional record to 24 wins, 23 by knockouts and three defeats.
