July 09, (THEWILL) – The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly detained a former governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari.
THEWILL can not immediately confirm the reason for his detention and interrogation but a report by Sahara Reporters and Sunday Punch said Yari reported at the office of the secret police after plenary on Thursday.
Quoting a source close to the lawmaker, who claimed to have escorted him to the DSS National Headquarters in Abuja to honour its invitation, the publication said Yari is presently being grilled by the DSS.
“Senator Yari is still in the DSS custody but he should be out soon in sha ’Allah. He went to their office himself after the plenary. I escorted him there and he has been there since then,” PUNCH quotes the source.
Spokesperson of the DSS, Peter Afunanya, has not confirmed the development.
