June 09, (THEWILL) – DJ Benny has put himself in the spotlight at the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on account of his tracklist for the night.
The APC had its Presidential primary June 7, to choose a candidate to represent the party in the 2023 general elections.
The DJ’s choice of songs for the convention received admiration from viewers online.
The song Buga by Kizz Daniel was a top choice for the DJ as the likes of Tinubu and Yahala Bello took to the stage to present their speeches.
He also played the same song when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was going to give his speech.
An interesting line in the song was where listeners are called to “wake up”, “don’t sleep”, and “collect your money”.
For many persons at the scene, including party delegates, the song served as a reminder to milk the contestant, yet do what has to be done, in the face of persisting allegations of financial inducement.
Another top choice was Dorime which the DJ played as an entry song for Tunde Bakare. The amazing thing was that the DJ switched to the line. You want to chill with the big boys when the clergyman urged the delegates not to collect money.
Dorime is often played to portray a personality of extravagance and financial influence.
