November 01, (THEWILL) – A former Nigerian lawmaker, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District at the 8th Assembly, Shehu Sani has demanded for bandits to be declared as federal civil servants.
Sani made the suggestion mocking the federal government’s refusal to declare the violent group as terrorists.
Well-meaning Nigerians, individuals and groups have provided various reason the Buhari administration should declare bandits’ groups in the North as terrorists.
However, the government has remained adamant to the calls, saying that there is a process to declare a group as a terrorist organisation.
Bandits and kidnappers are on rampage in the North West, killing, kidnapping and maiming residents.
In a tweet on Monday morning, the former lawmaker, said, “They (bandits) killed Muslim worshipers in their mosques in Niger and Katsina State; they killed Christians in their Churches in Kaduna State; if the Government doesn’t want to declare them terrorists, it should declare them federal civil servants.”
