December 18, (THEWILL) – David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, delivered the highly anticipated performance at the FIFA World Cup’s closing ceremony in Qatar.
Since the death of his son, Ifeanyi, Davido has been away from the public eye and the performance at the pre-final ceremony was his first. Together with his co-theme musicians, the artiste performed the World Cup anthem, “Hayya Hayya.”
While Aisha, a Qatari singer-songwriter, joined Davido to perform the song, Ozuna and Gims then performed “Arhbo,” and Nora Fatehi, Balqees, Rahma Riad, and Manal wrapped things up with “Light the Sky.”
It is the prelude to today’s World Cup final as Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe will face off as Argentina take on defending champions France. At the 4 pm kickoff, the two will lock horns to compete for team and individual glory.
Along with the main event, the PSG duo are tied on five goals each in the race for the Golden Boot, and the winner of the tournament will undoubtedly be in line to take home the Golden Ball and be recognised as the best player of the tournament.
