Dalot Stunner Snatches Late Win For Man United Over Sheffield United

October 21, (THEWILL) – Manchester United left it late to secure a 2-1 victory away to Sheffield United on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils struggled to break down a stubborn Blades defence for much of the game before defender Diogo Dalot produced a moment of magic to grab all three points for the visitors.

Despite dominating possession, United found themselves pegged back in the early stages as Cameron Archer went close for the hosts. Against the run of play, Scott McTominay improvised to volley Erik ten Hag’s men in front, only to swiftly concede a penalty just minutes later. Oli McBurnie made no mistake from the spot to bring Sheffield United level.

The second half was an archetypal game of two halves. The Blades began brightly, with Oliver Norwood forcing a fine stop from Andre Onana. At the other end, Antony went close for United after good work from Marcus Rashford. As the game wore on, the visitors began to dominate but struggled to break down a deep Sheffield defence.

With the game meandering towards a draw, Dalot seized the initiative in the 77th minute. The full-back unleashed an unstoppable strike from range to finally puncture United’s frustration and secure a vital three points for Ten Hag’s side. Alejandro Garnacho nearly added gloss to the scoreline late on, but the Reds held on to make it back-to-back EPL wins.
