Cross River 2023: I Won’t Be A Governor Who Lies To People – Prof Onor

February 12, (THEWILL) – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial Candidate in Cross River State, Professor Sandy Onor, has promised the people of the state that he will not tell lies as a governor.

Professor Onor promised to keep things simple, practical, realistic and always lean to the needs of the ordinary man.

He made this known during a defection rally at Ward 8 in Calabar Municipality, where chieftains of the opposition APC defected back to the PDP.

“As a governor, I will keep it simple, practical, realistic and lean to the needs of the ordinary man.

“I will provide basic things for our people instead of big projects that will never come to pass.

“As a governor, I will not lie to you, if roads are a problem you will have good roads, if electricity, you will have it, your request for a police station I will build it.”, he said.

He berated the APC for making promises that never come to pass saying they have failed in all departments.

“They have promised a deep seaport, Kalachika, Calaphram, spaghetti flyover, you will never see these things come to fruition.

“They have performed poorly and have failed in every department.

“We are going to restore, regenerate, revitalise and re-engineer our state. We urge you to be part of this as we will not take you for granted”, he said.

He assured us that the very best is coming to Cross River because we are prepared, and have the experience, intellect, drive, commitment and a sense of accountability and responsibility.

On his part, Ntufam Omin Iso, who led his supporters back to the PDP, said he initially left the PDP because of bad governance by Ayade.

He added that he decided to defect to the PDP because the governor left the party and described his administration as a disaster.

He said the governor has yet to execute any project in Calabar Municipality and Calabar South and is using the back to South agenda to deceive the people.

“I am a founding member of the PDP, but defected to the APC because of bad governance. This state cannot be fixed by Ayade.

“The governor is a disaster and they should mention one project he has embarked upon and completed in Calabar Municipality or Calabar South.

“The only thing he is trying to deceive us with is back to South and if we key into it, it’s Ayade’s third term”, he said.
