October 24, (THEWILL) – The Special Offences and Domestic Violence court in Lagos has sentenced Femi Olaleye, managing director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, to life imprisonment for raping his wife’s niece.
The judge, Rahman Oshodi, convicted Olaleye on a two-count charge of defilement of a 16-year minor and sexual assault by penetration.
According to Justice Oshodi, evidences showed Olaleye raped the victim and forced her to suck his manhood.
He held that the evidence of the victim and the doctor, who examined her was consistent; adding that Olaleye’s confessional statement and exchange of WhatsApp and email messages with his wife, were enough evidence against him.
Justice Oshodi also held that the statement and undertaking he wrote and signed alongside his lawyer, Olalekan Buruji, with his NBA seal at Anthony Police Station, showed he raped the victim and forced her to suck his manhood.
Olaleye was arraigned on November 20, 2022, by the Lagos State government on a two-count charge of defilement of a child and sexual assault by penetration.
He was accused of sexually violating the victim for over 20 months.
Although, he pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge, but during the trial, his wife, Aderemi, told the court that her husband introduced the underage victim to pornography and oral sex.
