BEVERLY HILLS, November 28, (THEWILL) –The Makurdi Division of the Court of Appeal has annulled the election of former Senate President, Senator David Mark of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ordered a rerun.

In a ruling delivered Saturday, the appellate court justices ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to redo the election for the Benue South Senatorial District within 90 days of the ruling.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Daniel Onjeh had appealed the declaration of Senator Mark as winner of the poll, citing electoral irregularities.

Senator Mark is one of the longest serving members of the Senate having been at the upper chamber since 1999.
