SAN FRANCISCO, August 25, (THEWILL) – Senator Andy Uba and a former Students’ Leader, Mr. Tony Nwoye emerged winners of two primaries conducted on Saturday by two factions of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, to elect a flagbearer in the governorship election scheduled for November 16, 2013.
The result declared by the Chief Ejike Oguebego, the faction recognised by INEC and the courts, showed that Uba polled 645 votes while Emmanuel Anosike polled 110 votes.
In the other parallel primary conducted by the Kenneth Emeakayi faction, the faction recognized by the national leadership of the PDP, Tony Nwoye polled 498 votes while Senator Nicholas Ukachukwu got 378 votes.
The other aspirants polled as follows according to the result announced by the Returning Officer, Dr. Kenneth Enemuoh: Jerry Ugwoke 86, Patrick Ugbomah 89, Mike Okoye 22, Ugochukwu Okeke 20, Alex Obiogolu 17, Mrs Josephine Anenih 3, Walter Okeke 2 and Tony Nwoye 1.
