Church Elders Told Me To Remarry After Ibidun’s Death – Pastor Ighodalo

June 19, (THEWILL) – The General Overseer of Trinity House Centre, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, has revealed that elders of his church encouraged him to remarry after the death of his wife, Ibidun Ighodalo.

His wife died as a result of heart attack in her sleep in June 2020, a few weeks to her 40th birthday.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the pastor revealed that elders approved that he remarried.

He added that the elders of the church approached him to get a wife in order to cope with the challenges of pastoring.

“In my own case of divorce, marriage and remarriage, I followed all the principle of God and the mission. I didn’t remarry outside the approved values of God.

“In fact, they came to me and said ‘your wife has left. You pastor a big church. How are you going to cope? You need a wife. The elders of the church approached me. I didn’t go to them. People don’t know this.

“They said I shouldn’t continue like this, I said, ‘but I thought the policy is that it’s not possible’. They said in this circumstances, we need to find what to do. I did what they asked me to and I got their approval.”

It remains to be seen if he has taken the step of getting another wife.

In April last year, the pastor said remarrying will be difficult. He added that he had already given” everything” to his late wife.
