Chelsea Announce Brazilian Teenager Angelo Gabriel As Newest Signing

July 17, (THEWILL) – Chelsea have officially completed the signing of Angelo Gabriel, an 18-year-old Brazilian talent, from Santos, for an undisclosed fee.

The promising young player has already made a significant impact in his home country, becoming the youngest player in the history of the Brazilian top-flight at the age of 15 years and 308 days. With 129 appearances for Santos, he has managed to find the back of the net five times. While he has represented Brazil at the under-20 level, Gabriel is yet to earn a senior international cap.

In recent transfer activity, Chelsea have already secured the services of two forwards. Nicolas Jackson, from Villarreal, joined the team for an estimated fee of around £30 million. Additionally, the club completed the signing of Christopher Nkunku, a talented Frenchman from RB Leipzig, for £52 million.

These acquisitions reflect the club’s focus on strengthening their attacking options. However, alongside these additions, Chelsea has also focused on reducing their squad size. Notable departures include Mateo Kovacic, Kai Havertz, N’Golo Kante Mason Mount, and several other key players, as the club aims for a more streamlined lineup under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

While the signing of Angelo Gabriel has been confirmed, Chelsea is still being linked with other potential additions. One such player is Moises Caicedo, a midfielder from Brighton and Hove Albion. However, reports suggest that Brighton demands a hefty fee of £100 million for the 21-year-old Ecuadorian. As negotiations continue, it remains to be seen if Chelsea will meet these financial demands.
