Celebrity Boxer Jake Paul, Tyson Fury’s Half Brother Agree Boxing Contest

October 08, (THEWILL) -Tommy Fury announced that he has tentatively agreed to fight YouTube celebrity Jake Paul in a boxing contest, pending a final assessment of the contract.

In an interview released Friday, Fury, the half brother of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, told TMZ Sports that he intends to knock out Paul in the highly anticipated fight.

“Get that sent [contract] over to my lawyers ASAP, right now, we’ll get that looked at and sorted because there’s not a chance in hell you’re winning this fight,” he said. “You’re leaving on a stretcher. You’re getting knocked spark out and you know it. Get it over to me now.”

Since going pro in 2018, Fury has a perfect 7-0 record. His most recent victory occurred in August, when he won a unanimous decision over Anthony Taylor on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley.

The 22-year-old British rising star previously stated on The MMA Hour that earlier offers from Paul’s team were “terrible” and that he did not see the social media superstar as a real danger in the ring:

According to TMZ Sports, Fury’s latest offer contained a $500,000 win incentive as well as a provision requiring him to alter his legal name to “Tommy Fumbles” if he loses.

He will be the most difficult opponent yet for Paul, who is also undefeated with a 4-0 record after his split decision victory over Woodley.

In addition to defeating fellow YouTuber Ali “AnEsonGib” Al-Fakhri, the 24-year-old Ohio native has also defeated former NBA player Nate Robinson, and former MMA fighter Ben Askren.

Following his victory against Woodley, Paul turned his attention on Fury, expressing his desire to fight a “real boxer” after sparring with other amateurs early in his career.

On a recent podcast, Paul said: “I want to fight a real boxer. We’ll see what the cards have in store. I think Tommy Fury is probably the top of that list. He’s skilled, he’s undefeated, and he’s a real boxer.”

There were no immediate announcements about the fight’s date or location.
