January 25, (THEWILL) – Cardi B with the birth name, Belcalis Almánzar, has won a $1 million defamation lawsuit against gossip blogger and YouTuber, LaTasha Kebe better known as Tasha K over defamatory accusations against her.

Per Billboard, a Georgia Jury awarded Cardi $1.25 million in damages after two weeks of deliberation and convicted Kebe of invasion of privacy through portrayal in a false light and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Meanwhile, the multi-platform gossip blogger could also be on the hook for additional punitive damages or Cardi’s legal expenses when the court picks back up.

Cardi took Kebe to court in 2019 over dozens of videos featuring wild allegations, among which was the high- (or low-) light that the blogger claimed she “f*ked herself with beer bottles” onstage when she was working as a stripper.

Kebe also alleged that Cardi B prostituted herself, was addicted to hard drugs, was unfaithful to her husband, Offset, and had contracted herpes.

In her testimony last week, Cardi stated that she felt extremely suicidal over Kebe’s claims.

“I felt defeated and depressed and I didn’t want to sleep with my husband, chalking up fatigue, weight loss, migraines, and anxiety to the ordeal.”

“Only an evil person could do that sh*t,” Cardi reportedly said, subsequently apologising to the court for her language.

Cardi also testified that the herpes rumour, in particular, dogged her online, as some of Kebe’s million-plus followers harassed her over pictures of her kissing her daughter, Kulture, on the lips and called her “Herpes B.”

Meanwhile, Kebe’s lawyers might still be able to challenge the verdict.
