BEVERLY HILLS, April 02, (THEWILL) – The country’s umbrella organisation for churches, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has encouraged believers to keep hope alive while giving thanks to God despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the prevailing security issues.

The CAN President, Rev. Dr. Samson Olasupo A. Ayokunle, in a statement titled “Easter Message – Rejoice in Hope: All Shall Be Well,” said, “This is the time for us to exercise patience in tribulations and to continue instant in prayer.”

While recalling that last year Easter was celebrated during the lockdown, he implored Christians to give thanks to God for his mercy over this year’s celebration.

Reverend Ayokunle noted that Nigeria has been bedevilled by various kinds of security challenges ranging from kidnapping, banditry, herdsmen’s attacks, ritual killing and armed robbery, over the years, urging Christians to pray for God’s intervention.

He charged Christians to have hope in the Lord, saying, “With hope in God who can never fail His children, with patience and continuous prayers, a glorious morning of resurrection will come.”

The CAN President wished Christians a Happy Easter full of hopes.
